Futuretense at Artspace

The opening night of FUTURETENSE at ARTSPACE proved to be an evening of excitement.  The theme of the artspace membership sourced exhibit focuses on technology and media within our daily lives. The art pieces on display serve as a reminder that the concept of media is not a new concept as it develops and adapts with our society.

Through mediums such as photography, mixed audio and visual components, paint, and everyday objects the contributing artists provide viewers with a glimpse into the nature of humanity and our reliance on technology. Not only do these pieces express our need to be plugged into technology, they also promote ARTSPACE’s new media lab which provides cameras, computers, and many other pieces of multimedia equipment to members.

The exhibit showcases pieces by Lyall Brownlee, Benjamin Hackman, Beth McCubbin, Patrick Moore, Michael Poulton, and Steppenwill. The exhibit is open until October 27, 2012, and I highly suggest that you check it out. In fact, I suggest you stop by more than once… try to see if any of the art pieces are changed or altered at all during the exhibit.
