Trent University Russian-Speaking Association (TURSA) is happy to become an official member of the TCSA.
TURSA is new student group focusing on the creation of a friendly and warm atmosphere for fellow students by recognizing and celebrating the different cultural traditions, dances and cuisines of various Russian-speaking countries. Currently, TURSA includes 24 Russian-speaking students from Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia.
“We welcome anyone who is interested in learning about and experiencing new cultural customs and traditions on the basis of the Trent student community,” said executive director of TURSA, Kristina Dergacheva.
TURSA is a not-for-profit, political free and nationally liberal organization that helps all new-coming domestic and international students to become more familiar with the university’s policies and events, and provides them with moral and academic support.
The members hope to develop strong relationships with other Trent associations and invite everyone to their first cultural meeting at Otonabee Hall for a bakery sale on Friday, March 28. Authentic Russian pancakes with various delicious toppings will be offered from 8:30am to 2pm.
