Trent Film Society is hiring a co-director! Paid!

20 hours per month starting in September. Position is from September to April and into Summer 2014 if you are available (not required).

Must be an undergraduate at Trent and must be returning to Trent and available to work September-April 2014.

How to apply:

1) Send us a cover letter (why you want this job, what you can bring to TFS, relevant experiences, skills, knowledge – 500 words);
2) a semester-long program of films that you would screen (10 or so films), and in 500 words or less (bullet points if you want), tell us such things as: why these films, the themes that link some of them together (we usually do two or three in a series that have some kind of connecting theme – not necessary though), why these films might be good for Trent/Peterborough, etc.;
3) A writing sample, a kind of introduction to the film that would appear in Arthur (500 words).

If you are contacted for an interview you will be required to orally introduce one of the films in your program (5 mins). We’ll let you know in advance.

I’m a recent graduate of the Cultural Studies PhD program. My research includes contemporary film, film theory, and the history of moving-image pornography. In addition to writing for Arthur, this semester I’m teaching in the Cultural Studies department (Intro to Integrated Arts) and Continuing Education (Writing Short Film Scripts).
