This week, two Trent Excalibur rugby players, Kaitlin Newton and Britt Douglas, were recognized for their exceptionally strong season by being named Ontario University Athletics Russell Division All-Stars.
Captain of the Trent team and fifth year Psychology student Kaitlin Newton from Port Hope, Ontario, was awarded her third status as an All- Star.
Second on the list is fist-time All-Star and flanker for the Excalibur team, Britt Douglas, who is also from Port Hope, Ontario. After a year away from the field due to injury, this Psychology and English major showed us that she’s still got it.
“We are very proud of both Kaitlin and Britt for being included in the Russell All-Star line-up,” said Paul Hunter, Varsity Coordinator at Trent.
“Both athletes have set a benchmark for other athletes to follow and both have been rewarded for the high work rate and commitment that they have shown throughout the season and across their entire rugby career.”
